Jakarta, Feb. 20 -- The Coordinating Ministry for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections emphasized that the government will focus on repatriating Indonesian prisoners currently incarcerated in foreign countries.

During a meeting on the Indonesian prisoners' repatriation here on Wednesday, the ministry's Deputy for Immigration and Corrections, I Nyoman Gede Surya Mataram, noted that the number of Indonesians facing death sentences and life imprisonment abroad is quite significant.

"To this end, we should not only carry out transfer (of prisoners to abroad) but also request for prisoner transfer (to the country)," he noted in a statement.
