Jakarta, July 10 -- The government is prioritizing the development of Garuda Schools in eastern Indonesia to help achieve equitable access to education nationwide, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Stella Christie stated.

"You can see that the locations selected for new Garuda Schools are based on needs, and they are being built in the eastern regions," she remarked during a working meeting with Commission X of the House of Representatives (DPR) here on Thursday.

She explained that the Garuda School program is implemented through two schemes: Garuda Transformation Schools, which utilize existing educational infrastructure, and the new Garuda Schools.
