Jakarta, March 13 -- Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati expressed optimism that food prices will remain stable during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr this year.

Speaking at a press conference on the March 2025 State Budget report on Thursday, the minister noted that rice prices had decreased significantly --down 22 percent year-on-year and 2.5 percent year-to-date.

Rice, a key commodity influencing inflation, has seen price reductions primarily due to sufficient stock availability.

"Indonesia is in a relatively secure position as we approach the Eid holiday. We have not observed any significant price surges," she stated.
