Jakarta, Jan. 6 -- The Indonesian government is considering regulations requiring police to use body cameras, following the enactment of Law Number 20 of 2025 concerning the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), which regulates the use of surveillance cameras for examinations.
"Then CCTV (surveillance cameras) for examinations, bodycams, perhaps this could be considered," Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas said in a press conference on Monday (January 5).
According to him, this policy will be discussed with the drafting team for the government regulation (RPP).
"We also try to incorporate it into the RPP because it is based on information technology. We will discuss it with Team 12 in the context of preparing and refining the upcoming RPP...
