Padang, Dec. 13 -- Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno on Saturday conducted a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of temporary housing for disaster victims in Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra.

The government will build 200 units of temporary housing in Pasia Laweh Village, Lubuk Alung District, Pariaman Regency, on 1.74 hectares of land owned by state electricity company, PLN. The project will be funded through the budget of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB).

"Temporary housing is not merely a physical structure, but a manifestation of the state's presence to ensure that people can resume their lives safely and with peace of mind," Pratikno said.
