Jakarta, April 29 -- The Ministry of Industry aims for Indonesia to become the world's leading producer of halal products, citing the industry's vast potential as evidenced by export transactions reaching US$64.11 billion in 2024.

"We must firmly bolster and improve the entire halal industry ecosystem. This is not just a goal but a strategic necessity," Deputy Minister of Industry Faisol Riza stated at the Halal Indo 2025 expo event launch in Jakarta on Monday.

According to Riza, Indonesia's position in the global Islamic economy continues to improve across various sectors.
