Jakarta, July 31 -- Deputy Minister of Law Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej stated that 17 issues flagged by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in the Draft Criminal Procedure Code (RKUHAP) have been discussed with the anti-graft agency.
The issues relate to inconsistencies between the RKUHAP and Law Number 19 of 2019 on KPK.
"Yes, they have been discussed, and there have been further talks with the KPK," Hiariej remarked when met after a public discussion on The World Day Against Trafficking in Persons here on Thursday.
Nevertheless, he clarified that these issues fall under the jurisdiction of Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR), which is still discussing the RKUHAP.
