Jakarta, Jan. 10 -- The government, through the Sumatra Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Task Force, has prepared a housing compensation scheme for victims of flash floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

Minister of Home Affairs and Task Force Chair Tito Karnavian said on Saturday that the compensation scheme is part of the government's effort to reduce the number of evacuees living in emergency tents.

"The fewer people staying in tents, the closer the situation is to returning to normal," Karnavian said during a coordination meeting broadcast on the House of Representatives' YouTube channel.
