Jakarta, Dec. 5 -- Deputy Social Affairs Minister Agus Jabo Priyono distributed aid to flood victims in Langkat, North Sumatra, to ensure the fulfillment of their basic needs.

"We want to ensure basic needs are met during this emergency response. Next, we will work to provide clean water, electricity, and fuel as soon as possible," he said in an official statement here on Friday.

Prior to visiting Langkat, Priyono also assessed flood-affected areas in Aceh Tamiang.

According to the Langkat District Head, floods have impacted 16 districts, affecting around 200 thousand residents.
