Jakarta, March 10 -- Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo emphasized the Indonesian government's firm commitment to rapidly transforming waste management in Indonesia to produce clean and sustainable energy.

"Smart and modern waste management is highly possible. Surabaya's success in processing waste into electricity is proof that waste has high economic potential," he stated here on Monday.

In the minister's view, Indonesia's biggest challenge is the relentless daily increase in waste volume.
