Jakarta, Aug. 3 -- Chairman of the Honorary Council of the Gerindra Party Ahmad Muzani expressed gratitude to the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) for its statement of support for President Prabowo Subianto's pro-people policies.

Speaking at the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Building here on Sunday, Muzani said that his side had received expressions of support from PDI-P Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri on several occasions.

"In many of our meetings, Mrs. Megawati conveyed that the government resulting from this election must be supported so that it can be effective in exercising its authority," he said.
