Bogor, W Java, Dec. 26 -- Garuda Indonesia on Friday said the pilot of a Jakarta-Sydney flight that encountered turbulence shortly before landing had followed all required safety procedures, as the airline sought to reassure passengers after the incident raised public concern.
President director Glenny H. Kairupan said flight GA 712, which was operating the Jakarta-Sydney route on Thursday, December 25, 2025, experienced turbulence about 30 minutes before arrival, but the pilot in command adhered fully to standard operating procedures (SOP) throughout the flight.
