Jakarta, Sept. 18 -- Since its launch on January 6, the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program has absorbed at least 600 thousand workers across Indonesia, according to Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana.
"Around 600 thousand people have been empowered as workers for the MBG program, and this figure excludes farmers," he told the press in Jakarta on Thursday.
The BGN chief pointed out that MBG kitchens, officially known as nutrition fulfillment service units (SPPGs), have played a significant role in this achievement, employing about 300 thousand workers as of September 2025.
