Jakarta, July 1 -- Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati on Tuesday informed that budget spending on the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program in the first half of 2025 reached Rp5 trillion (around US$308.5 million).
The figure accounts for just 7.1 percent of the total budget of Rp71 trillion (around US$4.38 billion) allocated for the program in the 2025 State Budget.
During a meeting with the Budget Committee of the House of Representatives (DPR) in Jakarta on Tuesday, Indrawati said that 1,863 nutritional fulfillment service units (SPPGs) have been set up so far to prepare food for the program.
They cover 5,588,419 beneficiaries, she added.
