Jakarta, June 11 -- Four private schools in West Jakarta will become a pilot project for the free elementary and junior high school program as mandated by a recent Constitutional Court (MK) ruling, a government official said.

Head of the West Jakarta Region II Education Office Diding Wahyudin said the schools are located in the Grogol Petamburan and Kebon Jeruk Subdistricts.

"They are SMP Al-Hasanah (North Sukabumi), SMP Al Inayah (South Kedoya), SMAS Budi Murni 2 (South Kedoya), and SMKS Maarif Jakarta (Grogol)," he informed in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He, however, did not reveal when the pilot project will begin, saying the regulations on free education are still awaited from the government.
