Jakarta, April 29 -- Indonesia's Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni has urged the public and stakeholders to remain alert for forest and land fires, even though they have shown a declining trend every year.
"We have learnt from past mistakes and improved ourselves so that the trend continues to decline, but this does not make us complacent, arrogant, or careless," Minister Antoni, according to an official statement received here on Tuesday.
He noted that Indonesia has faced disasters related to forest and land fires in the past.
However, according to the minister, all parties involved in the prevention and handling of forest and land fires have learned well, which has led to a continuous decline in fire occurrence.
