Jakarta, Aug. 1 -- Gerindra Party Chairman Prabowo Subianto has appointed Sugiono as the party's new Secretary General for the 2025-2030 period, replacing Ahmad Muzani.

The announcement was made at Padepokan Garuda Yaksa in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Friday.

"Mr. Prabowo Subianto has signed the letter of appointment for @sugiono_56 as Secretary General of the Gerindra Party," Muzani wrote via his personal Instagram account @ahmadmuzani2 on Friday.

He stated that the signing marked the end of his tenure as Secretary General of the Gerindra Party, a position he had held since the party's founding in 2008, and the beginning of Sugiono's term, who also currently serves as Indonesia's Minister of Foreign Affairs.
