Makassar, July 10 -- As many as 1,800 homes were reportedly flooded, and four bridges were severely damaged by a hydrometeorological disaster in Bulukumba Regency, South Sulawesi.

"Based on field data, the floods and landslides in Bulukumba Regency affected 1,800 homes," said Amson Padolo, Acting Head of the South Sulawesi Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in Makassar on Thursday.

The flooding in Bulukumba was triggered by heavy rain from July 5-7, 2025.

The most affected areas were four sub-districts, namely Ujung Bulu, Ujung Loe, Gantarang, and Kindang.

Floodwaters have now begun to recede, and residents are gradually cleaning and rebuilding their homes.
