Jakarta, April 16 -- The Ministry of Social Affairs announced that construction of the Prosperous Fishermen Village in Indramayu District, West Java, is 95 percent complete and will soon be ready for occupancy by the fishermen.

In the ministry's press release here on Wednesday, the ministry's Director General of Social Empowerment, Mira Riyati Kurniasih, stated that the new village development will offer new hope to fishermen affected by tidal flooding.

She noted that 93 housing units are being built in Eretan Kulon Village, Kandanghaur Sub-district, Indramayu.

These residences are designated for government social assistance beneficiary groups (KPM) affected by tidal flooding that damaged their coastal residences.
