Jakarta, June 30 -- Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo ensured that the first phase of school building renovation and development for the tuition-free school program, Sekolah Rakyat, is targeted for completion in July 2025.

"We continue to ensure the renovation runs in accordance with the schedule. Nationally, the first phase of Sekolah Rakyat renovation has reached 83 percent," he noted in a statement here on Monday.

This strategic project is implemented in accordance with Presidential Instruction Number 8 of 2025, which aims to provide quality education for Indonesian children, particularly those from poor and extremely poor families.

The Ministry of Public Works is also preparing for the second phase of development.
