Belem, Nov. 21 -- The Brazilian Health Ministry said 21 people were treated after a fire broke out in the Blue Zone of the 30th UN Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belem, Brazil.

"The Integrated Center for Joint Health Operations (CIOCS) reports that, as of 6:00 p.m. Thursday, 21 people had received medical treatment," according to a written statement from the Brazilian Health Ministry received by ANTARA on Thursday evening (Nov 20).

The CIOCS is responsible for monitoring and coordinating health assistance during the COP30 event.

Nineteen people were treated for smoke inhalation and two for anxiety, with no burn injuries reported. So far, 12 of those affected have been released after receiving treatment.
