Indonesia, July 8 -- The East Java Regional Police's disaster victim identification (DVI) team has deployed 31 medical personnel to autopsy the bodies of KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya passengers who died after the ferry sank in the Bali Strait.
The medical personnel comprise forensic doctors, forensic dentists, and experts in dental, fingerprint, and DNA examinations, Head of public relations for the East Java Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Jules Abraham Abast, said.
They have been drawn from Bhayangkara Bondowoso Hospital and Bhayangkara Lumajang Hospital, and are being assisted by Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS) personnel from Dr. Soetomo Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine of Airlangga University, Banyuwangi, Abast added.
