Batam, Riau Islands, Nov. 11 -- A Singapore-bound ferry departing from Batam Island, MV Horizon 9, collided with the La Digue tanker ship in Singapore waters on Monday (November 10), Indonesia's Transportation Ministry has confirmed.
M. Takwim Masuku, the head of Batam Special Harbormaster and Port Authority Office (KSOP) of the ministry's Directorate General of Sea Transport, said that the incident caused no casualties from the two vessels.
"All passengers and crew of the two ships are safe and have been safely evacuated to HarbourFront in Singapore," Masuku stated in his written remarks on Monday evening.
