Jakarta, May 2 -- Deputy Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, Veronica Tan, has called on members of the community to plan their families well to produce healthy and quality children.

"We all need to adopt a new mindset that having children must be accompanied by thorough family planning so that the children born meet quality standards for growth and development," Tan remarked in a statement here on Friday.

The deputy minister made this statement while attending the "Healthy Local Rice" harvest event in Nagasepaha Village, Buleleng District, Bali.
