Jakarta, Aug. 4 -- The Environment Ministry urges regional governments to form special teams in every Nutrition Fulfillment Unit (SPPG) to process leftovers from the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program and convert them into something useful.

"Because the number of SPPGs in each region continues to increase, the relevant offices must pay attention to food leftovers so they can be managed well. It is what the Environment Ministry is focusing on during every MBG monitoring," Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq stated in Tangerang, Banten, on Monday.

He remarked that 20 kg of waste is generated from each SPPG, comprising 10 kg from food processing and 10 kg from leftovers like orange peels.
