Jakarta, March 25 -- Indonesia's Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry has said that decarbonization in the energy sector has exceeded the annual target that was set as part of the larger goal to achieve net-zero emissions (NZE) by 2060.

In 2024, for example, the target for reducing carbon emissions in the energy sector was 142 million tons of CO2, Director of Various New and Renewable Energy at the ministry Andriah Feby Misna said.

The realization of decarbonization was 147.61 million tons of CO2, or 5.61 million tons higher than the target, she highlighted.
