Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, Jan. 23 -- Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian said the extension of the emergency response period in the flood-hit Aceh Tamiang District, Aceh, until February 3, 2026, is aimed at accelerating rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts.

Speaking in Aceh Tamiang on Friday, Karnavian said the extension provides flexibility in procuring urgently needed goods and services, including heavy equipment and tools to remove mud from affected areas.

He explained that during an emergency response period, procurement can be carried out through direct appointment to speed up the process, unlike normal procedures that require open tenders and take considerably longer.
