Jakarta, June 6 -- The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs urged electronic system providers to prioritize the protection of children in the digital space and ensure they are not targeted for commercial purposes.

Chair of the legal and cooperation team of the ministry's Digital Space Supervision Directorate General Secretariat, Josua Sitompul, made the appeal during a webinar, which was followed online from here on Thursday.

The step is deemed essential following the issuance of Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 on the Governance of Electronic System Operation in Child Protection.
