Jakarta, Dec. 5 -- The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources affirmed that the recovery of electricity systems in flood- and landslide-hit regions in Sumatra continues to make significant progress.
The head of the ministry's disaster preparedness team, Rudy Sufahriadi, stated that 99 percent of customers and distribution substations in West Sumatra have regained access to electricity supply, following the normalization of the 74 previously affected feeders.
"The affected load in West Sumatra was 42 megawatts (MW), of which 40.9 MW, or 97 percent, has returned to operation. Of the 270,148 affected customers, as many as 268,883 customers, or 99 percent, are now receiving electricity again," he said in a statement on Friday.
