Tangerang, Banten, June 25 -- Indonesia's Foreign Ministry reported that 18 Indonesians evacuated from Iran are currently stranded in Qatar due to airspace closure following Tehran's missile attacks on the United States' Al-Udeid military base on Monday.
The closure disrupted flights from Doha, Qatar, said Andy Rachmianto, Director General of Protocol and Consular Affairs at the ministry, in Tangerang, Banten, on Tuesday.
He said the evacuees are still waiting for their Doha-Jakarta flight.
"Hopefully, they will be able to fly back home tomorrow (Wednesday)," he said.
To facilitate their return, the Indonesian Embassy in Doha has coordinated with Qatari authorities and Qatar Airways, Rachmianto added.
