Jakarta, Feb. 9 -- The Jakarta Provincial Government stated that educating people early about cancer and improving the quality of life for cancer patients become a priority that needs to be fought for together.

"By increasing our understanding of cancer, we hope we can accelerate prevention, and therefore promote more effective treatment," Acting Governor of Jakarta, Teguh Setyabudi, said while attending a World Cancer Day event here on Sunday.

He also urged Jakarta residents to take care of their health by adopting a healthy lifestyle, undergoing in regular check-ups for early detection, and supporting medical innovations for better cancer treatment.
