Mataram, Aug. 15 -- The East Lombok District Head, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Haerul Warisin, has inaugurated the Small and Medium Industry (SME) porang factory, which is expected to boost the region's economic growth.
"This factory was built to support the development of porang plant's potential and to produce porang flour," Haerul Warisin said during the inauguration ceremony in East Lombok on Thursday.
He explained that the factory is part of the local government's efforts to improve the welfare of farmers and the community.
Porang ( Amorphophallus muelleri ) is a type of tuber plant native to Indonesia, known for its high content of glucomannan, a water-soluble dietary fiber.
