Indonesia, Nov. 26 -- East Kalimantan's Regional Research and Innovation Agency (BRIDA) is partnering with private companies to develop sacha inchi as a nutritional tool to combat stunting and as a renewable energy source.

"We are collaborating with firms like Kideco to explore local potential, including sacha inchi, rich in Omega 3, 6, and 9 as a superfood," BRIDA Head Fitriansyah said Wednesday in Samarinda.

He said the crop has dual strategic value for regional resilience: as a nutrient-rich food source and a biomass feedstock for energy.

The National Energy Council has challenged BRIDA to position sacha inchi as a raw material for green energy.
