Bondowoso, Nov. 1 -- East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa on Saturday launched the first export of 10 tons of Java Ijen Raung specialty Arabica coffee from Bondowoso District to Taiwan.

"This is Java Ijen Raung Arabica coffee, which has special characteristics. This is not ordinary coffee-it is high-quality coffee produced by farmers in Bondowoso," Khofifah said after inaugurating the export at Rejoagung Village, Sumberwringin Sub-district, Bondowoso.

The Arabica coffee from smallholder plantations in the Mount Ijen and Mount Raung areas has obtained Geographical Indication (GI) certification under the name Java Ijen Raung.
