Sleman, Yogyakarta, Oct. 24 -- Early character education plays a vital role in shaping self-control and resilience-two key traits that help prevent drug abuse among teenagers and university students, an expert said.

Speaking in Sleman, Yogyakarta, Clinical psychologist Andhita Dyorita, from University of Aisyiyah Yogyakarta warned that drug abuse is becoming increasingly alarming, with substances now disguised as candies to target even elementary school children.

"Drug forms have become more 'innovative' and 'creative'-but in a harmful way," she said.
