Jakarta, March 16 -- Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar said the e-sports industry has grown rapidly and has great potential to create jobs in various sectors.
"E-sports is not just a competition, but has become an industry that involves many sectors, from training, publication, to organizing tournaments. This opens up broad economic opportunities and creates new jobs for Indonesian people," Irene said in her press statement on Sunday.
Irene, who attended the biggest e-sports tournament in Indonesia, "Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Indonesia Season 15" held in Jakarta on Saturday (March 15), revealed that e-sports also contributes to the tourism sector by attracting fans from abroad.
