Jakarta, Jan. 6 -- The Law Minister Supratman Andi Agtas stated that the Draft Presidential Regulation, a derivative of Law Number 20 of 2025 concerning the Criminal Procedure Code, will regulate the use of artificial intelligence (AI).

Speaking at a press conference in Jakarta on Monday (Jan 5), Agtas said Deputy Minister Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej explained that electronic interrogation reports using AI may be applied during examinations to prevent intimidation or violence by investigators or other parties.

According to him, the use of AI will allow statements made by those examined or suspects to be typed automatically, so they will only need to sign them.
