Jakarta, Feb. 16 -- Chair of Commission XI of the House of Representatives (DPR) Mukhamad Misbakhun highlighted that inflation control and protection of people's purchasing power should be prioritized by the government ahead of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.

"Every Ramadan, consumption increases, and price pressures can emerge. Therefore, the state must act proactively, ensuring that policy instruments are in place before any volatility occurs," he said in Jakarta on Monday.

According to him, the seasonal cycle of rising demand for basic commodities has become a predictable pattern ahead of the Islamic fasting month and Eid al-Fitr.
