Jakarta, July 25 -- The Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) has called for dialogue, including through ASEAN forums, for a peaceful solution to escalating tensions between the armed forces of Thailand and Cambodia along their shared border.
Head of the DPR's Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP), Mardani Ali Sera, urged both countries to exercise restraint and immediately cease hostilities.
"Indonesia believes that there is no issue that cannot be addressed through dialogue. A single peaceful step can save thousands of lives," he said in a statement issued in Jakarta on Thursday.
