Jakarta, Feb. 28 -- Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Puan Maharani expressed optimism that the orientation retreat held for regional leaders on February 21-28 would help Indonesia solidify synergy between the central and regional governments.

During the closing ceremony of the event at the Military Academy, Magelang, Central Java, on Thursday (February 27), Maharani noted that President Prabowo Subianto had called on regional heads to assist his administration in achieving national development targets.

"It is vital to synchronize policies of the central government with those implemented by regions," he noted in DPR's statement cited in Jakarta on Friday.
