Jakarta, Sept. 3 -- Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, confirmed that the House would respond to the "17+8 demands by the people" that were widely circulating on social media following demonstrations throughout the country.

He noted that the 17+8 demands were also points raised by several student representatives during a hearing held by the DPR RI on Wednesday.

"Including 17+8, we will hold an evaluation meeting tomorrow with faction leaders to unify opinions and reach an agreement in the DPR," Ahmad said at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Wednesday.
