Jakarta, Feb. 18 -- Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR), Adies Kadir, dismissed claims that the proposed Bill on the Indonesian Military (RUU TNI) would reinstate the TNI's dual function.

"No, the dual function of the Indonesian armed forces would not be brought back. We will monitor this together," Kadir remarked after leading Tuesday's House Plenary Meeting at the Parliament Complex.

He explained that currently, TNI members do not typically hold government positions but only fill roles that are specifically needed.
