Jakarta, Sept. 5 -- Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad stated that the leaders of the DPR and its factions have agreed to stop the monthly housing allowance of Rp50 million (around US$3,037) for legislators.

"For the first point, the DPR agreed to stop the provision of housing allowance for DPR members as of August 31, 2025," he said in a press conference at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, on Friday.

According to him, the decision was taken in response to the "17+8 People's Demands" that were called for by various groups.

Apart from that, he continued, the DPR has imposed a moratorium on overseas working visits, effective as of September 1, except for attending state invitations.
