Jakarta, June 17 -- Dozens of Indonesian citizens have been stranded in Israel, Jordan, and Iran due to escalating regional conflict since last weekend.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the stranded group includes 42 religious pilgrims in Israel, eight Hajj pilgrims in Jordan, and two in Tehran, Iran.

"The Indonesian citizens, who were on short trips, are stranded due to airspace closures and suspended flights," said Judha Nugraha, the ministry's Director for the Protection of Indonesian Citizens, on Monday.

He confirmed that Indonesian embassies in Amman and Tehran have provided assistance to those affected.
