Jakarta, April 18 -- Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Anindya Bakrie stated that the downstreaming policy for natural resources promoted under President Prabowo Subianto's government can strengthen trade with China.
"We have (a trade) surplus of US$2 billion with China due to successful downstream investments between the two countries," Bakrie stated after attending an event marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and China here on Thursday evening (April 17).
He noted that Chinese investment in Indonesia's stainless steel production will pave the way for potential new capital in other sectors.
