Jakarta, Oct. 27 -- Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita reaffirmed that protecting the domestic market remains the government's top priority to sustain the resilience and competitiveness of Indonesia's national industry.

"Protecting the domestic market is the highest priority. The reality shows that 80 percent of our industrial output is absorbed domestically, while only 20 percent is exported," he said on Monday.

He explained that safeguarding the domestic market involves protecting four key demand drivers namely, the government, households, the private sector, and investment.
