Jakarta, Sept. 17 -- Djamari Chaniago was officially sworn in Wednesday as Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs (Menko Polkam), replacing acting minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin.

The ceremony took place at the State Palace, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

A seasoned military officer, Djamari served in the Indonesian Army for decades, holding key strategic posts. His last military role was Chief of the General Staff of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) from 2000 to 2004.
