Makassar, Aug. 7 -- South Sulawesi Deputy Governor Fatmawati Rusdi emphasized the importance of strengthening women's roles and independence in public life.
"Women of South Sulawesi possess a strong identity shaped by noble cultural and social values such as siri' na pacce , courage, and ethical conduct," Fatmawati noted in a statement in Makassar on Thursday.
She highlighted that respectful politics remains a distinctive trait of Bugis-Makassar women in leadership.
