Jakarta, Sept. 19 -- Deputy Foreign Minister Anis Matta stated that the United States' decision to veto a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) draft resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza is unacceptable and deeply regrettable.

"I believe it is a very bad decision," Matta said, responding to the US veto that blocked the latest attempt at the UNSC to pass a resolution aimed at ending Israeli aggression in Gaza.

Speaking at the opening of the "2025 Arts Lumiere Indonesia Festival (ALIF): Muslim World Movie Screening" by the Indonesian Foreign Ministry in Jakarta on Friday evening, he reaffirmed Indonesia's determination to advocate for the Palestinian cause at the UN despite deadlock in the Security Council.
