Jakarta, May 7 -- Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani announced plans to form a philanthropic body, Danantara Trust, and invited the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to collaborate.
He stated that the Danantara Trust philanthropic body is intended to allocate 1-2.5 percent of Danantara's annual dividends to philanthropy.
"We have run the numbers, and at the beginning of the year, we will put in US$100 million. In the next five to six years, we can give US$1 billion to the Danantara Trust Fund," he stated during a press conference at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday.
Roeslani explained that the Danantara Trust will support empowerment programs in various fields, including education and health.
